MARKER FITTER

Production (Fabrication)

​

Primary Function: Responsible for setting up, measuring, marking-off, cutting and aligning all pipe work structural items and able to interpret working drawing and carry out simple arithmetic calculations.

​

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Knowledge of line pipes, fitting and pressure ratings, familiar with GRE/GRP fit up and able to read detailed fabrication drawings or specification to find out job, material equipment requirements.

  • Able to operate a range of equipment including cutting equipment, heating torches, grinding machinery, hydraulic presses, thread cutting machinery and others.

  • Mark out the joints to be welded to help welder fit pieces together (i.e., marking & fitting of members/ segments/spools of piping & steel structure).

  • Able to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair to ensure compliance with applicable codes, law, working practices and health and safety.

  • Clean and maintain all equipment and tools of UNIK Galvanizing & Metal Products Sdn Bhd, maintain a clean working area, and able to carry out planned tasks in accordance with contract requirements.

  • Organize all supplies (materials, tools, and equipment) required, liaising with appropriate parties to carry out tasks and meet applicable safety standards, targets, criteria, and deadlines, and to maximize productivity and profitability.

  • Carry out tasks within specified time limits and adhere to all organization policies and procedures of UNIK Galvanizing & Metal Products Sdn Bhd.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety of UNIK Galvanizing & Metal Products Sdn Bhd and all related legal/statutory regulations, policies and procedures, codes, professional duties, responsibilities, and obligations and insert as applicable.

  • From time to time, you may be expected to be part of special projects as are reasonable required of your job role.

  • You are responsible for your allocated workload and must meet all targets as agreed with your Fabrication Lead.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • ISQ/PPK/L3C/IBTE (Engineering).

  • Minimum 1-3 years work experience as Marker Fitter.

  • Certificate in Marker Fitter.

  • Able to read calculate, convert shops drawings.

  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, calculate dimensions, transfer/mark linear. dimensions, calculate bending/rolling allowances.
