Metal Fabrication Process

Cutting

Cutting is a manufacturing process in which a larger piece of material is separated into smaller pieces or parts.

Bending

Bending involves force being applied to the metal material to alter its shape. The metal is bent manually by hammer or hydraulically with press brakes.

Punching

Punching is a process that creates holes in a metal. Punch presses have specially designed turrets that hit the metal through a die to produce holes in specific locations.

Fit-Up

Fitting up is the assembly of two or more pieces of base metal in preparation for joining.

Welding

Tack welding and full welding are performed to join two metal pieces together using high temperature and filler material.

Grinding

Grinding is a process used to smoothen and finish of metal parts, most often used for finishing edges, deburring, smoothening welding joints, creating a sharp edge, and for certain custom edge finishes.

Finishing

Finishing is the final step in the metal fabrication process. Once a metal piece has been completed, it can then be hot dip galvanized, sandblasted, painted, or powder-coated.
